" ... replaced the old speed control with a normal light switch (mounting fits); put an AC receptacle on the end of the wire that went to the old fan; and set the new fans to a bit below maximum.

This works better than the original fan ever did. Also I am very impressed with the quality of your assembly. I don't recall ever seeing hardware staked to prevent loosening like that other than on military equipment.

And I was pleasantly surprised to have it delivered to my door by Canada Post with no additional charges.
